About me

I am an independent artificial intelligence researcher with interests in machine learning, knowledge representation, and automated reasoning.

My career has spanned a variety of roles in research and advanced technology. I was the founder and Chief Scientist of Acrisure Capital, a quantitative, systemic investment firm with an emphasis on artificial intelligence. Before that, I was Chief Technology Officer at Tulco Labs, an AI incubator, along with several Tulco startups. I have worked at Two Sigma Investments as a researcher on the Core AI Team, as well as at Sun Labs working on Project Fortress, a DARPA HPCS sponsored project to develop new programming models to support high performance computing.

My PhD is in computer science from Rice University and my bachelor's degree from Cornell University is in mathematics and computer science, with a concentration in cognitive studies. I have spent time at a few tech startups during their IPOs: Bazaarvoice and RetailMeNot, setting up their initial data science and machine learning teams.
